Christmas music is a very big part of the happiness of people all around the world. Christmas music is based on that happy feeling you get when something good is coming your way, and this is our attempt at recreating that feeling in musical form. In England in the Middle Ages, people went singing and dancing at gatherings. Then later in the Middle Ages, Christmas carols were banned and labeled sinful for their Pagan origins. Then in 1647, Parliament banned Christmas. Then in 1660, the practice of caroling and Christmas was once again practiced. Since then, it has been practiced freely. This became the caroling we know today. Some instruments that are used for Christmas music includes bells, drums, chimes, and sometimes even violins. Another huge part of Christmas music is the choir that I mentioned earlier. With the special tone they give off together, the sound that results is very nice to hear. People get so worked up at the thought of Christmas partly because of the music that follows the holiday. With a symphony of the choir and the instruments, the sound that plays is amazing to the ears. The culture of the music comes from England, and as America was made independent, the tradition followed them.

I made my banner with a music sheet to symbolize the bigger picture of the type of music. I added some bells to show that they too could be used for music. To me, the banner symbolizes a quiet night with an instrumental choir and some instruments. I made it all blurred to show the meaning in an old light, rather as modern day. The culture and the music really make the banner stand out.
